Once upon a time......

We discovered the joy of llamas!
Their curiosity, intelligence, and gentleness never cease to amaze us.

Catera at three weeks old
and at seven months...

When Principessa Catera was born, right before my eyes, my true love for llamas was born as well.  Catera, affectionately called LaLa, was a surprise; the daughter of a rescue llama I took in with two others in the summer of 2005.

We almost lost LaLa, due to her mother’s lack of milk, and my lack of llama experience.  Her life was touch and go for weeks.  Yet, against all odds and with great guidance, hope, and commitment, LaLa grew big and strong and lovely.
La La's grace and beauty, and her amazing presence, are an inspiration to all of us here at Wunsapana Farm.

Eighteen months old and wonderful!

Here’s the thing about llamas.  You can’t have just one, and then really, two are not enough either.  Llamas are a 'herd' animal and are happiest in a group.   We currently have nine llamas, and two are bred for fall 2008 crias.  We are also adding a stud, Captain Jack Sparrow, co-owned with Lisa McLain.
Captain Jack is due to arrive at the farm in fall 2008.
The big, new, Llama Barn is expected to be completed soon!
Hannah and I continue to learn a lot about showing our llamas.  What fun!  All of our llamas are registered with the ILR, and we are members of ALSA, SLA, LFA,  and numerous other llama organizations.
Teri now has a 4H special interest Llama Club that the children named "Land of the Llamas" 4H Club.
